Content O’ The Day
So I’ve been wanting to do this post for a looooong time. I got this LBD (little black dress!) from an Igigi back in the very end of May and I’ve been trying to decide what to do with it!
It was REALLY pretty as is. This piece is at the higher end of what I would normally pay for one piece of clothing…
HOWEVER
This is a high usage item. I always feel like it’s worth it to invest in a ‘staple’ piece for something you can dress up or down, wear to work or out to a party, and can basically wear for every season.
So this dress is called the Maddy dress from Igigi! You can check out the dress here!
Make sure to check out the Igigi website and their Instagram page here!
Glam
So I went for my first look to be a ‘going out’ look!
I started with a casual up-do, matched it with this vintage gold glitter clutch, added these amazing glam sunnies, paired up some vintage gold dangly earrings and finished it off with my cheetah flats. I also did a heavier makeup look with a smoky eye and a bold red lip!
I wore this look out to First Friday – an awesome outdoor event where tons of local vendors do booths or giveaways downtown! It’s awesome!
Retro
So for this look, I did the Jackie O. neck scarf with big polka dots, spiced up my curls with a red glitter headband, and finished it off with these red retro inspired cat-eye sunnies!
I finished it off with a pop of bright red lipstick and some red satin flats!
This was the perfect look for when Preston and I went to see a play last month!
Casual
This was my casual summer look!
I paired this look with softer curls, a more natural beauty look, added my fave flip flops, and finished it off with this black and white stripe hat!
This was the perfect look for Preston and I walking to all the local shops while we were on vacation!
These looks were super fun to put together!
And bonus: I got kicked out of a photo location to do this shoot. That was fun!
Which style did you like the best? How do you style your LBD?
Let me know in the comments, send me pictures, or use #ThePennyDarlingLBD to show off your summertime little black dress!
My LulaRoe Featurette
I didn’t know if these three pieces were a whole blog post themselves or if just the LBD was enough for one blog post – so I just added this as a featurette!
So, my new friend, Kaylee, who is a plus exclusive LulaRoe consultant, introduced me to the idea of a ‘capsule outfit’. She explained it that it was three pieces that could mix and match to get more looks with less pieces!
You can check Kaylee out on Insta here and her Facebook group herehere!
The capsule outfit included a Nicole (my fave!), a Sarah Cardigan (a new staple!) and a Carly (my first time trying one!) Check out below to see how I styled it!
SO HERE’S THE “END OF BLOG” SPIEL!
The next few weeks have some awesome stuff planned! I’ll be doing a post with Eloquii and Swap.com, as well as more Gwynnie Bee & Society+ stuff, a cosmetic post, some lifestyle stuff, and more! And I’m finally doing the chub rub post with UnderSummers next week! Stay tuned for that!

As a PLUS person, I get soooooooooo hot – as in heat! – in the summer. And do I sweat. Any thoughts on how to deal with this?
