Hello all! Welcome back to another issue of Penny Darling!

I am so excited for a few things coming up in the near future! But lemme tell you about all of these things!

First things first – I just made a TWITTER. Literally this morning. I’m new to Twitter. Please  follow me as I figure it out. So follow me @thepennydarling on Twitter (and Instagram)

BIG NEWS!

First, anyone who was watching my live Instagram stories last week – my event went super well! It was HOT but super fun! And the students seemed to have fun. It’s a huge relief to be done! Success!

Second:

Tomorrow there will be a…*drum roll*…GIVEAWAY on my Instagram page of one of these BRAND NEW Penny Darling Shirts! The deets will  be live on my Insta tomorrow! Keep posted!

Third: In part of me being on this weird and awesome journey of my blog becoming bigger and better every week – I am starting to get to team up with some really awesome companies!

Now, I don’t know about all of you plus sized dolls out their – but I CANNOT buy tights to save my damn life. They’re either really low quality and rip immediately, roll down over my tummy, gets runs, and have the choice between nude and black. Or worse, I pay more for a company to get a pair of black tights and they run on the first chance.

And ya girl can’t handle any of that. I need some tights that sit high on my waist, will go over my thick thighs, not run or rip, and I like whimsical colors. I’m so over nude tights with control top that makes me feel like I can’t breathe or sit.

A few years ago I discovered WeLoveColors (especially their plus sizes) and fell in LOVE. They are vibrant, durable, thick (but not too hot), and go up to a size 32 (approx.) They go from size A to EEE.

And I bought them in a zillion colors! I had purple, red, pink, black, silver, and even a pair of fishnets! And they have stripes, open toe, tie-dye, and like fifty colors to choose from. (and the plain black and nude ones!)

Best part, you can order them THROUGH AMAZON and they are $15 a pair. Practically nothing for something that will last you a zillion wears. Totally worth it. And super reasonable.

And the last perk, and maybe this is TMI, but someone will be happy that I said it – is that my feet are SUPER rough on the bottom and the tights don’t snag on my feet. I find that my rough feet give tights runs or make me feel like I am going to tear them and these are impermeable to that.

So I reached out to WeLoveColors a few weeks ago about bringing a post to the Penny Darlings and they sent me a few pairs (in my fave colors!) to try out, style, and definitely show off!

They gifted me these pairs of tights and I am absolutely obsessed.

Well, actually, I got sent the Gold, Hot Pink, and Teal pairs. I had the purple ones and ended up being able to shoot a few in that outfit. It’s a personal fave. SO CUTE!

So without further ado – these are some of the tights!

Hot Pink

So these were SO vibrant and hot pink and adorable. I’m completely obsessed. And these sat so comfortably on my high waist. No rolling AT ALL!

I paired them with my denim suspender skirt, my Think Pink Barbie shirt, and sassed them up with some leopard flats from Target!

These are style #1023 and they gave me their new sizing at a 6x/7x. These were by far the most comfortable and sat the nicest on my waist! (And for reference, I’m a size 24/26)

 

Gold

This gold pair was definitely at the top of my NEED list – just to go with this dress. For real. When they asked me what colors I liked – I said GOLD! And without knowing any of this – WeLoveColors sent me the EXACT right color.

These are the gold tights that I paired with my fave daisy dress, my sunflower headband, and those same flats!

These were my ‘standard order’ of the Plus Sized Nylon/Lycra Tights (Solid) in a size EE in the color ‘Gold’ and were super comfy!

Okay, so I wasn’t 100% sure what I was going to pair with these. I had this awesome Lindy Bop dress in mind but it sold out in my size almost immediately and I didn’t get to snag it. So bummed.

But then I thought to myself, self, these are vibrant and cute AF. Pair it with a simple black dress and a black belt with those jazzy leopard flats. The tights stand out and add a nice pop and another layer to a LBD look.

The style of these particular tights are: Microfiber Ankle Length Footless Tights (Solid) in Turquoise in a 1x-3x. I’m personally not the biggest fan of footless tights – but these were a solid choice. Comfy, durable, vibrant, etc.

While this picture was being taken – I got cat called. For like a comedically long time. It was an older guy and it took him awhile to pass us and be out of site – so he cat called the entire thing. All nice stuff and he was harmless but I was kind of laughing and how much this random dude sucked at catcalling.

 

Purple.

I don’t have a ton to say about this outfit except that I am obsessed with this jade, royal purple, bright sunny yellow, bubblegum pink, and leopard print flats. The more I look at this outfit – the more I am obssessed with it.

And these weren’t gifted to me. I bought them last year. They STILL look brand new.

And it was windy and the balloons were hard to keep still.

So these are some of my WeLoveColors looks and how I make these vibrant colors shine!

I seriously have worn ONLY these tights for the last…three years…or so? After I tried a pair – I NEVER went back. 10/10 would recommend.

*BIG NEWS*

I AM TURNING 25 ON MAY 23RD!

And lemme tell you – I got big plans for Penny Darling! This is a quarter-centennial celebration for goodness sake! And it’s only a month away! Yikes!

So I definitely will be posting about my birthday look. (I always feel like I NEVER know what to wear for a party that’s like, for me, you know? HOW CUTE OR SEXY AM I SUPPOSED TO LOOK?!)

I also will be doing a week’s worth of birthday giveaways for some of my faves! So be sure to keep posted for those!

And I was thinking about posting my birthday wishlist! Thoughts? Anyone nosy enough to peek at the list? Lemme know!

SO HERE’S THE “END OF BLOG” SPIEL!

The next few weeks have some awesome stuff planned! Some hauls, the LBD, etc, styling my mom Part II, Lindy Bop, Cherry Velvet, and more!
