It’s been SOOOOO long since I last talked with you! (just kidding…it was Tuesday!)

I finally got my car inspected. For real, it was due at the end of June and my appointment was TWO DAYS before the end of the month. I was SO lucky.

Macaron Update: I will be placing my order in the very near future. What flavors do you recommend? I am feeling like birthday cake, pistachio, and tiramisu are my top choices! I need ideas!

And! Ooh! This is a fun one! I will be doing a photoshoot tomorrow and that is SO fun! I love doing photoshoots. Well, this will be a photoshoot with our dear friend, Lauren, who is a professional photographer! I always love shooting with Preston but it’s fun to have a professional in the house!

Let’s get to the topic of the day!

Practically Patriotic in Every Way

So there’s a tag going around the Instagram machine called #freedomfrom where we all talk about what we are free from. I am finally free from hating my body. One day, I looked in the mirror, just out of the shower, and decided, ‘This IS my body.’ and getting used to it seemed a lot easier.

So I gained my #freedomfrom hating myself. My motto is that “I can either wake up hating my body or loving my body and why would I choose the latter?”

I made that comment once and another woman said, “That’s so amazing.” – and that was such a moment for me. For some and even maybe most women – that is amazing. And it shouldn’t be. That’s what we should encourage.

 

But I’ll get off my soap box now. TLDR; love yo’ self.

And since this weekend is a holiday weekend that plenty of people are traveling for – I wanted to show off some of my patriotic looks. These are some of my fave red, white, & blue looks and I lovelovelove showing them off!

 

First, I wanted to show off what I am wearing this weekend!

This ADORABLE red, white, & blue stars and stripe romper.

Oh my god. 

This is officially my favorite new item that I own. It’s cute, it’s a jersey, like, almost, terry cloth in fabric, easy to get on and off, and perfect for a lake side picnic (which is what I will be doing). So this is my ‘daytime’ look!

Evening

Later in the evening, after the picnic, we will be going downtown to watch Fireworks, light some sparklers, and possibly even come back and have a bonfire! So I wanted to have an evening outfit that was comfy, stretchy, but looked cute and stylish!

I paired an old pair of red leggings with this navy jersey tunic from Avenue. (Thanks Avenue!) Check out this tunic here! I immediately nabbed it off the shelf because that embroidery on the neckline was fun but the fabric was still super comfy.
