A Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Costume Reveal!

Good Morning, Penny Darlings!

Happy Friday, ya’ll. I’ve been having a bit of a frustrating week with the blog. Lots of companies backing out, changing their mind, pushing dates back, or just really poor communication, or pulling the old ‘We’ve never had to pay bloggers before’ and I say a big ol’ HOOEY to that.

*Most companies are not like this. Most are very nice and very thoughtful.*

Let me get off my soap box here! Preston and I had a great photoshoot yesterday with our friend Lauren, who is a gem! That was super quick and super fun! I’m in the middle of making some delicious food!

Mine and Preston’s three year anniversary is coming up in a few days! I’m super pumped about that! He’s a gem. I won’t get too mushy now because I’m going to share our story in a few days!

That’s all my life updates! We’re back to the second week (out of three weeks!) of the shows for Sweeney Todd! If you’re in the area – I recommend coming to see it! It’s fun!

And blah, blah, blah, – check me out on Instagram here! I also started a Twitter account! Find that here! Follow Preston’s brand new fashion Instagram here! I also have a selling Instagram page where I sell some of my old clothes/styles so that I don’t drown in my own wardrobe.

Now, let’s get on to the content o’ the day!

I’m just going to cut right to the chase.

Some people have VERY strong opinions about Couple Costumes. They hate them or they love them. I like them just fine.

Honestly, it’s a nice perk of being in a relationship: having a partner. But it sometimes can add context to your costume and it’s as fun to do with a friend!

I’ve posted this month some easy DIY costumes and some Halloween Inspired Looks and all kinds of Halloween content and such, but today I want to talk about the ever taboo – couple costume.

The year (2015) that I got laid off and lost my job, it was right before Halloween, and I was devastated. I cried for a week straight. I cried for months actually, but I cried so much.

So, that year, Preston and I were invited to four different Halloween parties. So I went HARD for the costumes that year. It was a fun distraction, so I made 4 Couples Costumes.

Pictured: Alice & The Mad Hatter, Adam & Barbara from Beetlejuice, Mary Poppins & Bert, & The Professor and Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island!

Last year I was a bridesmaid in a wedding and we were moving during the Halloween weekend so we had to repeat Alice & The Mad Hatter look! It was fun but a very low key holiday.

This year we’re involved with Sweeney and that’s super fun but it’s going right over the Halloweekend on both ends! So we’re just going out after the show one night in a costume we’ve been waiting to use!

So today I wanted to reveal our 2017 Couple Costume Lookbook!

This Tardis is just randomly in the town we live in! As you can see on the side – a sweet baby angel who became an Eagle Scout made this Tardis for his community service project as a little free library! It’s full of books and adorable AF!

What do you think? Did we nail it or fail it?

PLEASE tag me in your Halloween photos on Insta! I want to see them!
