Oh my god. Ya’ll. Can we just acknowledge?
My FIANCE Picks Outfits for me.
My FIANCE! I have a fiance. Life is so wild, friends. I can’t get over it!
In other news, everyone in our household is slowly getting sick. I’m already on Prednisone, Preston’s started last night and Jeremy’s started this afternoon. And even Harvey has the sneezes! So if anyone has ever been on steroids for anti-inflammation – it makes you stay awake, sweat, and thirsty all the time.
And I swear the proposal post is coming! I’m just waiting on pictures! Our amazing friend Lauren took some and sent them already! But the newspaper and our other friend Martha were also snapping! But here’s a teaser!
And blah, blah, blah, – check me out on Instagram here! I also started a Twitter account! Find that here! Follow Preston’s brand new fashion Instagram here! I also have a selling Instagram page where I sell some of my old clothes/styles so that I don’t drown in my own wardrobe.
But I am OBSESSED with the Queen of YouTube, JennaMarbles, and have been a fan since 2012 and have faithfully watched her videos since then! Like, I had a different and boyfriend and wasn’t engaged and Jenna had a different boyfriend.
But this new boyfriend she has (Julien – huge fan!) and they do all kinds of cute boyfriend and girlfriend things together.
But JennaMarbles, girl, and I have no idea how, but I got a leg up on ya. I got me a gosh darn fiance.
But the point of my JennaMarbles girl crush is that a few weeks? months? who knows? ago posted a post with Julien called ‘My Boyfriend Buys My Outfits’ and I thought it was positively delightful and fun.
However, I am not the Queen of YouTube, and don’t live in a mansion in Hollywood or make like a $750K a year or so. So Preston didn’t BUY these outfits. But I challenged him to find me five new outfits from my closet that I had never paired together.
So God Bless his heart, he did exactly that. I didn’t even know there were five combos left.
I gave Preston no parameters at all except I had to have NOT worn them together already.
Look #1 – Girl Scout
This combo of gold, forest green tights, vintage carpet purse, and tassel loafers.
I actually kind of LOVE this look. It’s so cute.
Preston said he was going for a ‘girl scout vibe’ and loved the green tights with the mustard. He picked out the purse and the shoes and I am obsessed.
Look #2 – Sweater Puppies
I think I made the Sweater Puppies joke first.
But I am obsessed with dog sweaters (at this point I have probably, 9 of them? Or so?) so I was excited to see this look on a hanger! And I am also obsessed with styling a sweater over this style of ModCloth dress.
So I love styling this dress this way and I love this sweater. But I had never made the combo! So this was an easy one for him – he knew I’d love it! He paired it with this gray headband and white pumps!
Look #3 – Who Gives a Fox? I Give Three.
So this look kind of happened by accident. I was wearing this little fox dress and Preston grabbed my fox scarf and my fox purse.
And I have my tassel loafers matched with this!
So I am obsessed with the triple fox here. I have the fox scarf that my brother’s girlfriend got me for my birthday, this Forever21+ fox dress, this Charming Charlie fox purse.
This is a great match up.
Look #4 – Errands and Chill
So Preston wanted me to have a ‘classic weekend look’ (although I hardly ever look like this on the weekends).
This look is a simply delightfully soft Avenue sweatshirt, my basic black leggings, and a huge tote bag that “would be great for sneaking snacks into the movies, or going shopping, or whatever.”. He picked the tote bag and the sweater as the ‘opposites attract’ look.
Look #5 – Lipstick and Overalls
So, Preston and I almost got robbed while shooting this look. It was very scary and I was super nervous.
A guy approached us and started asking for money, he started getting closer to Preston who had the car keys and the camera, and when we said we didn’t have any cash he said there was an ATM around the corner, and we said no, and then he started yelling and getting closer and more aggressive.
But in any event, Preston mixed up this denim suspender skirt, sequin lipstick sweater, and a purple purse and purple headband. Then he added white knee socks and loafers for a ‘school girl lolita look’.
Look #6 – Feminists Wear Pink
This was actually a three piece look.
So this is the same sweater and dress combo from ModCloth that the Sweater Puppies look is for! And then he grabbed the tutu for ‘something girly you’d like’ and he’s not wrong.
This was another total win for me! Loved it!
What do you think, friends? How did he do? Would you let him pick out your outfits?
