Hello there, Penny Darlings!
Happy Friday and one of my very last posts in 2017!
We picked a venue (and set a date!) but I’ll make a formal announcement of that soon! I’m pretty excited about that! And I got to see a bunch of friends this week and it was fabulous and I’m exhausted and excited.
But, as most problematic shoppers (I.E. me) know, that immediate post holiday time is when gift cards stacked with good deals can lead to some SERIOUS shopping. Serious shopping.
As a huge Parks & Rec fan – I am no stranger to the insanely satisfying and justifying phrase, ‘TREAT YO’ SELF’
So I pocketed all of my gift cards to take over to Capital City Mall to grab myself a gift. After all the holiday parties, gifts, family activities, and hustle and bustle – I especially am feeling awesome about a treat yo’ self!
Now, I usually buy a few small things (gloves, leggings, headbands) or one big item (purse, jacket, shoes) that will help me get the most bang for my buck.
So I poked around over at Capital City and looked at Francesca’s (which had some adorable scarves on sale!), Claire’s, White Barn (totally obsessed with the 3-wick candles), Torrid, JCPenney, and a few other places before deciding.
Bonus: I got to sign up for their PREIT PERK$ (which gives you $10 back for every $250 you spend!) and earn towards that goal which is always nice.
I eventually landed at Torrid and treated myself to this rose gold moto jacket. I’ve wanted a moto jacket SO badly and a pink one at that. But it was a tad on the expensive side – but I knew I would definitely get the wear out of it! So I wanted to show what I bought and the different ways I styled it!
First: Here’s the link to the jacket!
Second, blah, blah, blah, – check me out on Instagram here! I also started a Twitter account! Find that here! Follow Preston’s brand new fashion Instagram here! I also have a selling Instagram page where I sell some of my old clothes/styles so that I don’t drown in my own wardrobe. I just listed a few new things – so check that out!
Style 1
For style one, I paired this cheetah tutu with all pink details to give a pink & punk look! I grabbed my pink glasses, headband, and gloves, cheetah tutu, cheetah flats, & this rose gold jacket! This is a look that I would wear out to a bar in the winter (or even spring!) or to a girl’s night out!
Style 2
This is a look that I am obviously obsessed with! This is my ultimate girly glam outfit! I have this vintage Barbie purse with my hot pink accessories, some soft pink bow ballet flats, and a matte dark pink lip! This is a quirky brunch look!
Style 3
This is my ‘going out’ look! These sequin Eloquii joggers mixed with this adorable puppy graphic tee is something I might wear out to a concert, a NYE party, or even to a party at a friend’s house! This look is the right mix of comfy and badass GLAM!
Style 4
The ‘casual unicorn’ look is another personal favorite! I mixed the rose gold moto jacket with this unicorn print top, tucked in high waisted Avenue denim (which I am obsesssssed with). I also nabbed this perfect color match purse. It’s amazingly adorable! This is a look I’d love to wear out for shopping & lunch with a girlfriend.
Style 5
This is my mixed metallics outfit! I added the rose gold jacket with this muted bronze (which I styled in my last post!) metallic skirt and matched it with this vintage gold metallic clutch for a mixed metallics/roaring twenties look! This is my NYE outfit and it’s AMAZING!
I always think when I’m buying a higher ticket item if I am going to get the wear out of it. It always makes sense to splurge a bit on a coat, good shoes, or a purse since they tend to be worn a little more than just a top or a sweater. So save a bit on the earrings, and splurge a bit on the jacket! And rose gold moto, how coooooool?
After all the holiday spending and craziness and gift buying and all that jibber jabber – it’s important to remember to treat yo’ self! Even if it’s just one item that you’ve had your eye on, or you want to go walk the mall (with a soft pretzel, obvi) and grab a few cute things you’d like – it’s totally worthwhile!
I hope everyone has a safe, bright, and happy New Year’s Eve celebration!

I hope you had a wonderful New Year’s holiday, Penny. All of your outfits are adorable as usual. I really love the first one, with the leopard print skirt. The jacket reminds of the pink jackets in the movie Grease. Anyway, thank you for sharing another awesome post.
