I am posting to you from the great state of Michigan to do this AMAZING collab that I absolutely cannot wait to share more deets about!
But, yes, I am in Michigan! Hooray! I’m with my mom!
And this is an absolute DELIGHT!
But, in the last two weeks, I was posting in my new glasses! Now, I know, I’ve needed glasses since seventh grade – I wore contacts until I was a sophmore in college – Preston works for an eye doctor, my best friend since childhood’s dad is an eye doctor – so trust me, I know glasses can be VERY expensive if you don’t have insurance that covers vision.
Preston’s had bad eyesight for years – and only in the last six months has he given a prescription for glasses – not because he didn’t need them but because he didn’t have the insurance to cover it. (Now, that’s a whole DIFFERENT cup of tea but you get the jist.)
So, I discovered Zenni Optical about two years ago – and lemme tell you – they are a GAME CHANGER FOR GLASSES WEARERS!
Zenni is an online glasses maker. They take your prescription (you need your prescription as well as your glasses width and PD) and can make prescription glasses with all kinds of modifications for seriously under $15 for the most basic packages!
Zenni also can make any frames into sunglasses, can have anti-reflective coating, progressives, transition lenses, literally all of the things. And I got mine in about ten days from the time of ordering
After the holidays when I had a few extra bucks burning in my pocket, I snagged myself TWO pairs of glasses, with the lenses, and a modification, and shipping….for $29. TWENTY NINE FREAKING DOLLARS FOR TWO PAIRS OF GLASSES!
So first, I snagged this pair:
That’s right – THEY SAY PENNY DARLING ON THEM! How freaking cool is that?! And how totally me are these frames with the polka dots and fun colors?! These frames are listed at $12.95.
I customized them with anti-reflective and anti-scratch lenses!
These frames are quickly becoming my favorite pair! They add the perfect pop of color to every outfit. I can’t stop wearing them – especially since they have my name on it! That’s literally just the coolest, amirite?
I totally recommend going to an eye doctor to get your prescription and PD so that your glasses are the exact perfect fit. I used my one from my most recent eye doctor appointment (which was two years ago) and they are almost the exact same as the $200 pair that I have.
I like having a few pairs of glasses because I totally think it transforms an outfit and can be a totally underutilized fashion accessory.

But then, since these were such a good price – I decided to snag a SECOND pair!
These little pink frames were also, you guessed it, $12.95 with my prescription! I have been switching my glasses more in this week than I ever had for the past fifteen years of wearing glasses!
I had this pair customized with anti-reflective and anti-scratch lenses which set me back a whole $4.95. That’s right. Under five dollars for that customization! And I can definitely tell the difference. 10/10 would recommend this upgrade!
Fun Fact: Preston & I found this Edith Piaf shirt in my size and one in his size in some old bin of vintage shirts he had in his closet. So now we having matching vintage Edith Piaf shirts. So, obviously, score.
Moral of the story: Zenni is a totally reliable, super cute, super affordable way to be able to have your glasses as a trendy fashion accessory that can be changed with the whim of your outfit!
