Dear Preston,
Happy Valentine’s Day, my darling Peanut.
I didn’t know there was a way to love someone more than I love you!
Everytime I thought I was in love, is nothing compared to how I feel about you.
I’ve never felt more accepted, understood, loved, protected, secured, and cared for. Every day I think I can’t love you more and then every day you make sure I know that I can! The rest of my life is a commitment I am so excited to make and I can’t wait for our big day!
I am a huge mush. And I’d like to share a list of nice things you’ve done for me, as a way to acknowledge and appreciate you.
1. ) You say, “How was work?” every single day, even when I was blogging in my underpants on the couch. You never trivialize or struggle to acknowledge and praise my work.
2.) On a night we spent apart, you read a chapter of a book to me when I had trouble falling asleep. You read to me for 45 minutes until you were sure I was asleep.
3.) You are always in. You’re in for a spontaneous road trip, trying a new recipe, tandem parasailing, changing plans last minute, playing in the snow, cliff diving, a photoshoot, anything I’ve ever needed.
Here we are, literally cliff diving.
4.) You stood up for me to someone I know it is hard for you to stand up to.
5.) You watched the Lifetime movie about Elizabeth Smart, To Catch a Predator, and Extreme Couponing (my SUPER guilty pleasure show) like a million times.
6.) Two nights ago you worked a double shift until 4am, and when we mentioned that to a friend, he joked that it was nice that I wasn’t at all suspicious that you cheated on me…because that thought has never even crossed my mind. I appreciate that you are so loving, loyal, and have never given me a reason not to trust you 100%.
7.) You stayed up with me until 2am because I had a sudden urge to make deviled eggs, and then realized that making deviled eggs takes a SUPER long time to make!
8.) On those couple of days where it was down, almost in the negatives, you dropped me off at the door at every single store/location we went to so I wouldn’t have to walk in the cold.
9.) You do every single photoshoot that I ask you to do. Literally all of them.
10.) In fact, you laid down on ice to get this photo:
11.) You understand and manage my anxiety in the most perfect way. You understand my abandonment issues and have no trouble telling me nineteen times in a row that you’ll never leave me.
12.) You get up with Harvey to take him out and feed him most mornings because I have trouble falling back asleep.
13.) I love that we can do theatre together and have something really special together…which led to this.
14.) I told you that I didn’t get Easter baskets anymore, so you’ve made me Easter baskets for the last three years that were all equally thoughtful.
15.) I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve heard you complain about things.
16.) I know you are going to be an amazing husband (and possibly someday!) father and I cannot wait to have a whole life with you.
Happy Valentine’s Day, little peanut.
I love you so very much.
I am so thrilled that by next Valentine’s Day, I’ll be your wife.
