Happy Friday, Penny Darlings!
This has been a crazy week! Well, most weeks are crazy! But I booked my flight to Chicago, so here I come windy city! I also have some exciting collabs coming up in the future! And hopefully a party tonight!
And blah, blah, blah, – check me out on Instagram here! I also started a Twitter account! Find that here! Follow Preston’s brand new fashion Instagram here! I also have a selling Instagram page where I sell some of my old clothes/styles so that I don’t drown in my own wardrobe.
While this week has been LONG and we are planning a party tonight – we’re taking the rest of the weekend to VEG OUT! We hardly ever get a whole day to do nothing. No laundry, dishes, chores, errands, projects, activities, friends, parties, work, travel, family, nothing. That’s all we want: to just to sit on the couch and be couch potatoes. That’s all we want to do! So this weekend: we’re doing it!
I don’t know about you, but I spend more time clicking through streaming services than I do actually watching something. Amirite or amirite?! I’m right.
So today, on the weekend coming up, I wanted to share some of my fave shows to binge watch!
Also: I’m snuggling up in my Nite Nite Munki that I scored from Poshmark! Absolutely obsessed with Poshmark (a resale site!) currently! I don’t have a closet there – but you can use my download code for $5 off, if you want to try it out!
Just use my code when you download the app: @abby_hoy and it should let you have $5 off your first order!
But anyway: My Top Ten List of Binge-able Shows!
1.) The Office
Literally everything about The Office is perfect. I’ve seen in at least ten times all the way through. I even started finding my own Easter eggs (like, in the pilot episode, Dwight is singing The Little Drummer Boy which is later revealed to be Angela’s fave song!). They’re short, funny, and there’s a TON to watch. Perfect for non-stop binge day!
2.) The Goldbergs
This is a TV sitcom (on Hulu!) that takes place in Jenkintown, PA in “1980-something” and is about this amazing family dynamic. There’s some top notch acting, it’s funny, fun, a little heartwarming, well written, and since it’s based on the creators real life – every episode ends with a clip of a home video that the episode was based on!
3.) Degrassi
This is available for streaming for Next Generation (my preferred generation!). This is the one with Drake on it when he’s still Aubrey Graham. Preston and I have been watching this NON-STOP for the last few weeks! (no shame!) Next Generation (seasons 1-15) are on YouTube and the Next Class starts on Netflix!
4.) Parks & Rec
One half of my favorite feminine power duo, Amy Poehler, is hilarious, the show is well cast with well developed characters, well written with great acting, and Chris Pratt is adorable and so damn likeable, and Ben & Leslie’s relationship reminds me A TON of mine and Preston’s.
5.) The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
This is a new show on Amazon Prime. This show made me feel feelings in a way I didn’t know I could feel them. The aesthetic of this show alone is worth watching. The 1950’s with the vibrant colors, the costumes, the light New York accents, Tony Shaloub, the writing, the comedy, UGH. This show is everything. It’s a lot what I imagine the inside of my head looks like.
6.) New Girl
This show was originally SUPER popular, but I feel in later seasons, people weren’t talking about it as much as they were in the beginning. But this show holds up, all the way until the end. The dynamics and relationships are so believable and cute. And plus, everything Zooey Deschanel wears on that show is AMAZING!
7.) Gilmore Girls
I literally will watch anything created by Amy Sherman Palladino. She’s a genius. Literally a genius. Her writing, her characters, her VERY evident parental issues, the quick pace, the clever dialogue, the specificity of every character and line….UGH. And #TeamLogan all the way. Fight me on it!
8.) Happy Endings
This is streaming on Hulu, but this show was SO clever and well written, with really sharp dialogue and interesting characters. It didn’t play into stereotypes (except of the 1/2 hour friend group city based sitcom) of the main cast! I love this show! Here’s one of my fave quotes from the show:
“If Mary Tyler Moore married and divorced Steven Tyler, then married and divorced Michael Moore, and got into a three-way lesbian marriage with Demi Moore and Mandy Moore, would she go by the name Mary Tyler Moore Tyler Moore Moore Moore?”
9.) Chopped
Literally, what’s not to like about Chopped? It’s a food network show where you have to create a full course meal with surprise ingredients in every course. It’s fun, has WAY too dramatic of music, is easy to watch a million times over. And there’s a gazillion episodes, so it’s easy to throw on during veg time!
10.) GirlBoss
This show made me cry. It’s not supposed to, it’s mostly a funny show, with great acting, and an AMAZING supporting cast. But this show is about a girl who was lost with purpose and found it in creating her own empire. She’s what girls like me dream to be! This is a Netflix original and it didn’t get renewed for a second season – but it’s a great stand alone season!
So what else should we be binge watching?! I’m always looking for recommendations!

Some of my current binges are Fresh Off the Boat (I love all the 90’s-ness) on Hulu, and Schitt’s Creek, which is so snarky and sassy I love it, on Netflix.
