Happy Monday, Penny Darlings!
After a great weekend, we’re back to the grind for the countdown to a big picnic, sparklers, and lots of swimming for 4th of July! It’s going to be a great party and I have the perfect outfit! I can’t wait to share! And my cousins from Norway are here visiting and I haven’t seen them in years!
And I love that everyone’s following along on our ‘Pup-venture!’ of our potential new pup coming for a trial week next week (per the rescue’s preference!) and I’m already head over heels!

So, now, much like defeating the Huns, let’s get down to business.
I love a good shopping spree (obviously!) and I wanted to stock up on some late summer essentials! So, I headed in store to try on some new pieces from the Torrid at Francis Scott Key Mall in Frederick MD!
Some Torrids are teeny tiny and don’t have TONS of options just because of size – but this Torrid was HUUUGE! (and they were having a SALE. Ya girl loves a good sale!). And a pretty awesome clearance section (again, even on a sponsored shopping spree, ya girl is STILL hitting the clearance rack. I love a good deal!)

I knew I wanted to stock up on some summer essentials with lots of color, versatility, breathability, and affordability. That’s all the ‘ility’ words!
These looks are absolutely fitting for my personal style and all pretty different! As a plus sized gal, I hardly ever actually get to go in to a store and try anything. I’m usually just trying to make a good guess when ordering online for the first time from somewhere! I am always glad when I can go into the mall and hit Torrid (and definitely a crepe – there’s a crepe place – go to it immediately.) and take a mountain of things into the dressing room! (thanks for following along on my Insta-stories!)
GRAY FLORAL DRESS
A sweetheart neckline, retro bust tie, and it’s jersey. It’s practically perfect in every way. I’ve already worn it a dozen times.
Lisa Frank Tee & Pink Shorts
My inner nineties girl, much like a broken fridge, has absolutely no chill.
I NEEDED this Lisa Frank rainbow unicorn tee and these crochet shorts are to die for!
MINNIE LEGGINGS & HAT
I’m totally Disney obsessed, so I had to grab these Minnie leggings with the bows and the Mickey heads! Sooooo cute and stretchy and comfy! I paired it with a red crop top I had at home!
And then, I saw this Minnie hat with the pom pom ears and I literally can’t think of anything more me.
GRAY JERSEY ROMPER
For real, I wear a romper nearly every day in the summer. I always need a new romper. And this one is just my style, it’s plain, easy to dress up and down, has pockets, and is made out of jersey, so BRB, I live in this romper meow.
BUMBLE BEE OUTFIT
This was the PERFECT outfit combo. I snagged this bumble bee top (a light breezy chiffon) and paired it with these AMAZING lace detail black shorts and this yellow cardigan to make this out beeeeee perfect!

If not, it’s from Gilmore Girls, just like my shirt! I’m a total Gilmore fan, so when I saw this, I HAD to grab it. I styled it for lounging (with coffee pants, of course!) and for day to day with my denim jumper!
KIMMY SCHMIDT
So when I think of Ellie Kemper as Kimmy Schmidt, I think of an outfit in the first season with HOT PINK pants, a white top, and a yellow cardigan and I thought she looked like freaking SUNSHINE, so I wanted to replicate her outfit for summer!
These are the same hot pink shorts, bumble bee tee, & yellow cardigan that were used in other posts, so this is just a new way to style them for a totally different look!
