It’s been a wonderful week here at PDHQ and Charlie is still the love of my life. AND I still have a husband…which feels WILD! I super love having a husband. That’s fabulous, honestly.

But today – I am here to talk about the absolute most delightful thing in my house right now (other than my husband and my dog!).

Village Candle’s new candle: Campfire Tales is GIVING ME LIFE on this chilly Friday!
This is Village Candle’s newest scent is the same ooey-gooey delicious sweetness of marshmallow, a tint of chocolate, and a smoky undertone that reminds me of the hundreds of campfires I’ve sat around in my life!
From homecoming bonfires, campfires lakeside on the fourth of July, gathered around with the other little Brownies in my Girl Scout troop, to casts gathering around campfires in the midst of debauchery and bonding, and nights making s’mores with my best friends – campfire is one of those familiar scents that makes you feel like you’re home!
Now, I want you to know how PUMPED I was about this candle.
When I got this candle in the mail and Preston and I went out to photograph with it and I came out dressed in this outfit and, for real, said out loud “I’m trying to look like I’m cosplaying as a s’more. How did I do?”
And for real, I put this outfit together to make it look like I was a s’more.
I have no chill as a person.
Now, I actually want to tell you one of my favorite campfire memories!
When I was in a production of Carrie, we headed out to a friend’s farm for a big cast bonfire and camp out. I remember all of our friends gathered in a crisp October night. The sky was clear and we spent the night making s’mores, swinging in the tree swing, singing showtunes (loudly), and warming our hands by the campfire.
We put up tents for those of us who wanted to turn in early. The rest of us snuggled up under blankets around the fire and talked and sang some more. We were straight out of a movie.
It was full of love, fun, that delicious campfire smell, and songs. It was one of those nights that we all talk about fondly, even years later. For weeks afterwards, I loved the smell of the campfire on my jacket.
