7 Ways to Kick Start Your 2019 Goals

Happy Thursday, Penny Darlings!

Today started off with a bunch of little annoying things that can put someone in a grouchy mood, so I’m taking five minutes to sip my caramel hazelnut coffee, listen to a song I love (River and Roads by the Head and the Heart), and get back into a positive mindset!

I’m a side hustla’ gone full-time! And it can be important to set and meet your own goals, motivate yourself, and work 60 hours a week, if ya have to! Being an entreprenuer is not for the faint of heart, as any maker, start-up, small business, writer, free-lancer, etc. can tell you!

Today I teamed up with CASEABLE to share some of my best tips for keeping yourself motivated and working towards your goals after hitting the end of January slump!

Let me just end with the boring stuff so we can get to the goods! Ha! Check me out on Instagram here! I also started a Twitter account! Find that here! Follow Preston’s brand new fashion Instagram here! I also have a selling Instagram page where I sell some of my old clothes/styles so that I don’t drown in my own wardrobe. I just listed a few new things – so check that out!

Caseable is an awesome company that creates electronic cases (like phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) that you can completely customize! These products are high quality, well-made, and online user friendly! I designed my iPad case in, like, 15 minutes and it’s still in great condition, even two years later! And then bing, bang, boop, it’s your new fave electronic case! (and if you’re not much of a designer, no worries, Caseable have PLENTY of awesome and exclusive styles to choose from!)

1.) Plan, Plan, Plan, Plan

Can’t stress this enough. Get a planner, a calendar, an app, a red string, a post-it note wall, anything! It seems SO simple and so few people do it. If a gift-giving holiday is coming, add a deadline a month prior to finalize shopping so you’re not as stressed out last minute, meetings, coffee dates, happy hours, bills, grocery shopping. The first step to organizing your life is to PLAN!

2.) Get some cute accessories!

This is just a simple thing, but it can make a world of difference. I love having a rainbow pack of pens for my planners and calendars, I love taking notes in sticker covered notebooks, and toting around my electronics with my custom Caseable sleeves!

Caseable helped me design my iPad cover and my laptop sleeve with some of the amazing illustrations that Preston and I have had done for us over the years!

3.) Make it easy to work on the go

I always feel much more confident on being able to work and travel, work while traveling, or even just being able to upload pictures while visiting my parents! Grab some cute custom cases, a new backpack, a cute pencil case – it definitely helps your vibe!

4.) Get an accountability buddy

I always do way better with someone checking in on me, or to just say ideas out loud to, or even just to keep me working! For me; it’s my dog Charlie! He’s usually on my lap when I’m working and I never want to wake him up, so it makes me stay at my desk a little longer!

5.) A special ‘hustlin’ corner!

I know not everyone has the space to have a home office! But before I had one, I took a lot of pride in my desk being a great workspace, and before that, I had a special ritual of cleaning off my kitchen table, lighting a few maple candles (my fave), sipping my coffee, and throwing a fave playlist on! It definitely helps you get into the right mindset to hustle if you’re space is creatively conducive!

6.) Keep hydrated

Pretty much, no matter what, this is a good resolution. In a millennial age of two or three jobs, the constant burnout, the side hustles, the caffeine, the late nights, and the early mornings – this can be a crucial thing that we tend to overlook! I got myself a cute water bottle and it definitely makes me remember to fill it!

7.) Be sure to check in on your goals

This is absolutely CRITICAL! Set goals and timelines and check in on them. Are you close to hitting your goal in the time frame you wanted? What have you already accomplished? It’s crucial to see what you have accomplished already! If you haven’t quiiiite finished something in the time frame, maybe you underestimated the time it would take! It’s always good to take stock, reassess, and realign to be your most productive self!

Also, P.S., let’s look at Charlie, who is a total bum. I reached down to scoop him up onto the couch with me and he immediately rolled on his back so I would give him a belly rub. Spoiled little creature!
