Happy Friday, Penny Darlings!
These past few weeks have been totally sunny & warm (and humid!) and filled with travel and adventures and always lots of work. And a little stress, but nothing that a trip to Lake George can’t solve!
Good thing, Preston & I are headed up to the Lake George area for the Adirondack Food & Wine Festival that is being hosted next weekend on June 29 & 30! It’ll be the perfect thing to unwind and enjoy!
This is the fifth year of the ADK Food & Wine Fest and it has become a SMASH HIT in Lake George! With tons of local vendors & wineries, restauraunts, breweries, and food trucks – there’s a never ending amount of delicious options!
There’s samples of artisan food and drink, lots of shopping, beer pairing suggestions, a celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, and lots of amenities (I love that they’ll hold your purchases in the Drop-Off Tent so you don’t have to carry everything around!).
Bonus: I’ve been coming up to the ADK area for MY ENTIRE life and the ADK Food & Wine Fest helped me get introduced to hidden gems and new shops to create new favorites!
You can find out all the deets of the festival, like tickets, directions, lodging, events, vendors, amenities, & FAQ on their website here!
Find out other events going on in the area at the Lake George Area website here and make a whole weekend out of it!
The Pre-Fest Sampling!
Preston & I had the opportunity to go to the Adirondack Winery (the host of the fest!) for a wine tasting and IT WAS SO FREAKING FUN! We laughed, tried all new things (seven different types of wine!).
Jackie, who was taking us on our tasting journey, made us laugh, made it a lively and fun experience, and taught us a TON about wine, local wine, and the ADK area! (Gewurztraminer is pronounced like girls are meaner!).
There was also a charcuterie plate with all local sourced snacks! (Vermont Extra Sharp Cheddar, some amazing truffles, berry jam, goat cheese, and even local made crackers!).
My fave ADK Wine was the Sunny Day (pineapple infused) and Preston’s fave was Blue Twilight (blueberry-infused, because Preston is literally Ben Wyatt.).
Sampling & Reviewing Some Festival Picks
The amazing team at ADK Winery & ADK Food & Wine Festival gifted Preston & some wines to try and review before the festival…so obviously, we said YES, PLEASE!
So we ended up with three different bottles: AweStruck Hard Apple Cider, some Grapefruit Rose, and Bagg Dare Wine Co. 69 White Table Wine.
Preston and I had the TEDIOUS (just kidding, amazingly awesome) chance to sample these beverages – so check out our thoughts below!
1.) AweStruck
Abby: This was dry, sweet, and very apple-y. It was very crisp and bubbly and overall this was my fave of all three!
Preston:
2.) Bagg Dare Wine Co.
Abby: This was really bright and fruity and delicious. It tasted almost pink, if such a thing is possible. Light, bright, yummy.
Preston: It truly IS 69 ways to have fun. Ha! This one was my fave!
3.) Grapefruit Rose
Abby: I lovelovelove citrus infused anything (especially grapefruit!) and this has a very nice and bright grapefruit flavor!
Preston: This was a nice citrus taste mixed with a rose without being too too sweet (because I prefer a more dry wine!)
