7 Ways to Have a Practically Perfect Picnic Princess Party!

Hey there, Penny Darlings!

Happy Thursday! Preston & I are in the last few days before our play opens in ONE WEEK! EEP! I can hardly believe that we just open in a week! It’s been two years since I’ve been on stage so I am very excited to revisit this part of my life again!

Also, we’re in the last few days and the last true big weekend of summer! This summer has been a beautiful thing, helping me reconnect, build stronger friendships, experiment, explore, and & enjoy the sunshine. I’m nostalgic already!

Since Preston & I are going to be stuck inside next week – we decided we wanted to make the most of the weekend! I told him I wanted to have a princess picnic – so he agreed! He’s always such a good sport!

Let me just sneak the boring stuff so we can get to the goods! Check me out on Instagram here!  I also have a selling Instagram page where I sell some of my old clothes/styles so that I don’t drown in my own wardrobe.

Today, I wanted to share how to have a PERFECT princess picnic! I teamed up with my friends at Picnic TimePicnic TimePicnic Time to have the positively perfect accessories!

1.) Know that you are a princess!

A quote from one of my fave films from being a kid: The Little Princess.

“I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren’t pretty, or smart, or young. They’re still princesses. All of us.”

It’s totally okay to let your inner kid out, to totally indulge yourself in the simple things, and to act like a total royal diva for one day!

2.) Accessorize properly

Another favorite movie quote from the wonderful Steel Magnolias.

“The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize.” and those Southern Belles were totally right!

For this post I was excited to find my perfect picnic accessory with this Disney Princess cooler tote from Picnic Time! It fit SO much in it, that it was a perfectly royal way to carry all the supplies! We filled it with cheese, wine, snacks, and even managed to pack some spare water bottles in there!

I’m also giving away one of these cooler totes (with your choice of princess!). More deets will be listed at the bottom of this post!

3.) Do it for the gram!

It’s totally okay to spruce up & add a little style spin to the every day to make it pretty for Instagram! Everyone always teases about ‘living for the gram’ but if you are, do it with no shame!

I brought some pink balloons that were leftover from a party, a comfy blanket from my living room, and wore my fave tutu! It was a totally easy way to swap some of the basic pieces for something more fun & frilly!

A total princess move!

4.) Snacks are critical

You always need to have a solid snack supply for any princess outing.

For this picnic, Preston & I decided on the two best parts of any meal. The cheese plate & the dessert! We packed some snacks from Dylan’s Candy, including gummy bears, truffles, and even some chocolate covered peanuts! Yum!

I also made and plated some “Dunkaroo Dip” with Funfetti Cake mix, CoolWhip, and tons (too many!) rainbow sprinkles! I used this recipe and it’s delightfully nostalgic & yummy from the Wishes & Dishes blog!

5.) Get creative with your cheese!

I don’t have a movie quote handy for this one!

Everyone ALWAYS does cubed! Have fun! We brought some goat cheese, some swiss cheese, and some Parmesan crisps! I love mixing goat cheese with some fresh and tart fruit, the crunch of very sharp parm, and of course, Swiss! It’s a classic!

6.) Bring dishes!

There’s nothing more lackluster than packing a beautiful and yummy lunch and then eating out of paper towels or plastic wrap.

I brought my Picnic Time cheese plate! It fits a perfect cheese knife, signs to mark what type of cheese it is (we were having a bit of trouble with the wind for the signs!). It was so satisfying to plate up & enjoy our food!

This Beauty & The Beast themed board has this lovely & dainty Belle (and notice the fun little symbols on the signs! eep!).

7.) Have fun!

In our last few days of summer vacation – have fun!

Enjoy the sunshine, the fresh air, the coming fall crisp in the wind, eat lots of fun snacks on a grassy hill, have an adventure with your bae, your bestie, your mom, your grandma, or even your DARN SELF! No shame in that solo picnic game!

Bring some music, relax, and enjoy!
