Hello there, my Penny Darlings!
Thank you so much for your overwhelming support of my Open Letter to All the Men Who Said I Was Too Fat. It means so much. Truly, thank you.
However, today is a lighter day as we move forward into the summer! Preston opened his most recent play this weekend and I started rehearsals for my summer play this weekend as well! Lots of theatre going on! My school year is officially over so now I’ll (theoretically) be blogging full time!

I am showing off some adorable photos!
So, some you may remember our friend, Lauren Althea, who has done some amazing photographs of us! She did our Valentine’s Day photos as well as our Spring Photos last year!
She is an absolute gem who agreed to do some adorable summer photos with us!
So she asked what kind of vibe I was going for and I said, “I don’t know, I’m envisioning, like, at a flower market, but I don’t know if that’s a real thing around here” and she got SO excited and said, “I know exactly where the perfect spot is!”
So we went to this adorable and totally hidden gem of a wildflower field near the theatre that Preston and I met at. It was exactly as whimsical as it sounds.
Unfortunately, it was THE WINDIEST DAY OF THE DAMN YEAR. FOR REAL. SOOOOO WINDY. LIKE 20 MPH winds. So please excuse both of our hair on this day. We were both doing the best that we could.
Bows on Bows
This was our Bow for Bow look! He matched his pink bow tie to my pink bow skirt!
His outfit is all Jos A. Bank and my outfit is all Society+. (find my skirt here!)
Ice Cream Dapper
So this was our ‘Ice Cream Dapper look’ – Preston revived his bows on bows outfit but I slipped on a Modcloth Ice Cream Dress (it’s a few seasons old – so I can’t link it!). I matched it with a pastel pink headband for a retro 1950’s ice cream shop look.
But if you lovelovelove this dress – they pop up on eBay and Poshmark every once in awhile – so be sure to check those!
Red & White Wine
We took some of these shots in some adjacent grapevines growing nearby. I paired a gold suede top with some SimplyBe overalls for a white wine look! Preston was the ‘red’ wine with a burgundy shirt and a burgundy and gold flecked tie!
I feel like these are some of my faves!
Purple on Purple
Preston (and mine!) fave color is purple! We have SO much purple stuff.
So for our last look we paired together this adorable Eshakti retro cut dress as well as Preston with his plaid purple button up and purple paisely tie! We even found a patch of purple flowers to pose in!

And then we had a little time left over (and of course, I had more outfits! I always carry a spare!)
When we were done doing the couple’s shots – Lauren snapped a few pictures of just me and I am absolutely obsessed!
The first one is what Lauren describes as “Coachella vibes”. I got this adorable daisy print dress from Torrid and this sunflower headband is a WalMart find. It was, like, $3. Totally worth it for how much I’m using it this summer.
I actually think I might get more into those headbands. I used to think they were silly but I have totally been convinced otherwise!
And lastly:
Preston got me this amazing adorable embossed unicorn LulaRoe Nicole dress for my birthday. Seriously, it has hidden, embossed, unicorns all over it.
How freaking cute is that? It satisfies my love of purple, my desire for whimsy, and my need of cute and stretchy dresses.

So I mentioned that this was THE WINDIEST day of the year and that we were trying to just shoot as fast as possible in between the wind nearly blowing our house down!
