Good Morning, Penny Darlings!
Abby back again! I finally got to shoot all my pictures for this post – so it is finally ready to post!
Let’s see? Do I have any house keeping? Preston bought new clothes for the first time in a year or so? And his clothes are SO freaking cute. I might do a Preston mini-haul to show off some of his new looks. It’s kind of like…if Winston from New Girl and a trust fund baby had a kid. It’s cute. I swear! Does anyone want to see his haul? Lemme know!
I am heading on vacation for Fourth of July weekend up to the Adirondacks with my very dear friend, Cathy! And I will be away from Preston for five whole nights! That’s the most since we started dating! Yikes!
Check me out on Instagram here! I also started a Twitter account! Find that here!
But…as I have promised so far in my blog posts: I have some exciting news.
An exciting announcement! (or at least, exciting news #1 – there’s totally more to come!)
*drum roll please*
I am now an affiliate of Society+
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!
This is so exciting! This has been in the works for a little while and I can’t be more thrilled! After being a long time shopper – we did a collab post for my Sweet & Spicy birthday looks! Check that post out here! Or click the picture!
But yes! I am now a brand ambassador! Which basically means a few things! I get to work with a company that I believe in. And that’s for real. No blogger tricks or gimmicky advertising. It was founded for plus sized women who wanted to look glamorous, have affordable and stylish options, founded by a woman, and works so closely with bloggers and social media influencers. I can get behind all of that.
So basically what it means is that I will be styling some of their new items to show you how it might be able to work into your wardrobe! If you love it – I’ll always have links!
I have an affiliate link! You can click that here!
Here’s a sneak shot of what my ambassador page means!
If you see me styling something that you absolutely have to have, you can follow my links, and I’ll earn a little bit of commission and get a chance to style even more things! All good things for all involved!
So if you see something you absolutely musthaveitrightnow – be sure to use my links!
My first evereverever Society+ affiliate box is with this item:
The Juliet Tutu
Now, I want you to know – when we were talking about doing a collab blog post – this was the FIRST thing I looked at and said: “Is the Juliet an option?” – so when I say I love it – I actually selected it not even knowing it was the affiliate item of the month!
So I wanted to style this skirt a few different ways to show off how it can be dressed up and dressed a little more casually and how you can take it from casual to glam in just a few moves!
Let’s first talk about the skirt features:
It’s SWOOSHY. Tons of twirl.
Tulle over-lay.
Satin (and stretchy) waistband.
Knee length (at 5’6)
Twirl. Twirl. Twirl. (sung to the tune of Work by Rhianna)
It’s called the Juliet Tutu – and you can shop that here!
This very glamorous. For sure. I’m naming these looks being clever and silly.
The Capulet
So, for the first look, I went a little more dressed up for summer fun. I wanted to make it a bit like a tea dress with a defined waist.
So I added this black jersey scoop neck to add a feminine flare and stay comfy, a sparkly glitter red headband to match the roses, and a bright red lip to keep the accent look going!
The Verona
So this was my more ‘glamorous’ looks. I added my red-polka-dot-cat-eye sunnies for a touch of vintage and retro glam, a bright red pop of lipstick to keep the red throughout, and matched it with this sassy smooch graphic tee.
This is something I might wear to an outdoor festival or activity or even for a night out with some girlfriends (minus the sunnies!).
I really wanted to accent the red so I added in a few pops of red throughout! This is my fave look, I think!
The Montague
This last look is mixed with this red, peter pan collar, preppy and lolita top! I thought the high neckline, the vintage collar, and the buttons gave the exact preppy look I wanted to make this a wear-to-work or to something during a day!
Adding this jersey and modest top with the tulle also mellowed out the dressy and girly glam of this skirt.
Alright – those are my three styles! The Montague, The Verona, & The Capulet made these perfect options for all different kinds of summer looks!
Again, if you decided you want to give it a try – use my link here!
So what do you think of the Juliet Tutu styles I made? Are they all alike in dignity? Let me know which one was your fave!
SO HERE’S THE “END OF BLOG” SPIEL!
The next few weeks have some awesome stuff planned! I’m thinking about getting more into makeup and accessories and talking about ‘plus confidence’ and body confidence. Any thoughts? Later this week – I’ll be doing a patriotic look book!
