Preston & I Have a Special Announcement!

Happy Friday, Penny Darlings!

This has been a real crazy week of up and downs and lots of driving and traveling! And the weather has been god awful. It’s been a mix of 95% humidity, 90 degrees, and thunderstorms! Where’s my 72 degrees with some clouds and a slight breeze? YA GIRL LIKES IT ON THE COOLER SIDE.

Anyway, I digress.

Let me just start with the boring stuff so we can get to the goods! Ha! Check me out on Instagram here! I also started a Twitter account! Find that here! Follow Preston’s brand new fashion Instagram here! I also have a selling Instagram page where I sell some of my old clothes/styles so that I don’t drown in my own wardrobe. I just listed a few new things – so check that out!

So, let’s talking for a second.

Preston and I are expecting a new addition to our family:

Expecting a doggo, that is!

So you may be asking yourself: Abby, don’t you have Harvey? Well let me tell you. Preston and I have a roommate (they lived together first, before I started living here!) and Harvey is Jeremy’s! (the roommate!). And in just a few weeks, the lease is up and Preston and I will be living on our own for the first time!

But that also means no more Harvey. And my heart literally breaks everyday.

So, I told Preston, “we HAVE to adopt a new dog.”

And that’s where this post starts off.

We’ve been going through the process of applications, meet and greets, references, home visits and all of the procedures to adopt a dog! (and before anyone says it, ADOPT, DON’T SHOP!). I have my heart set on a little guy who I know would steal my whole heart away.

I don’t want to jinx it, but if you happen to know anyone in Chester Springs who is affiliated with Phoenix Animal Rescue – connect us immediately!

So, I teamed up with Gabe’s to bring you a new haul as Preston and I prepare for our very own pup to become a member of our family!

Gabe’s, an AWESOME store, that has brand name product for a fraction of the price. I’ve scored Betsey Johnson, Lilly Bloom, Avenue, Lane Bryant, Express, Nike, and more!

When I mentioned that I was interested in adopting a new doggo into our house – Gabe’s reached out and wanted to help us get ready to welcome our new pooch into our home!

We hit the store trying to score some great deals on must need items (like a dog bed, dog shampoo, a leash, and more!). This is the haul of what we’re stocking up on!

Food

We stocked up on a few bags of dry food for small/medium dogs. It’s Purina brand and all natural and organic and it was a fraction of the price! These bags will feed a pup for at least a month or two just to start out!

We also STOCKED up on treats! Preston is usually scolding me for how liberally I want to give Harvey treats every single day, multiple times a day, so I usually have to control myself! But we stocked up on big treats, small treats, dental treats, stress relief and relaxation treats, long chew treats, and organic treats! We even got brands like Purina, Beggin Strips, & more!

Toys

Obviously, all pups need toys to let out their energy! I stocked up on tons of new toys for the pup! Most of these toys ranged in price between $3-$7, so obviously, I stocked up!

I’ve also spoiled Harvey with a few new toys from Gabe’s because I couldn’t bring home a bag full of dog toys with none for my number one guy! (Yeah, I know, I have no chill.)

And there’s Harvey sitting forlornly next to this stack of toys that aren’t for him!

Misc. Pup Stuff

My grandma had dogs, my BFF/MoH has a dog, we had a dog growing up, I’ve worked as a dog walker, dog sitter, our neighbor has two dogs. Pups have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember! So, I know exactly what having new dogs in the house can mean for carpets and cleaning!

While I was at Gabe’s, I nabbed a retractable leash. (Harvey has one and I love it!) that is this adorable mint color with three small tennis balls! (Gotta love a bonus perk!). I love the retractable leashes because I love for pups to be able to sniff and explore ahead!

I also grabbed this adorable dog bed (it’s SO soft!) and adorable and matches our living room perfectly. I hope our new pup snuggles in bed with us, but I’d like for him to have his own place to lay!

Cleaning

I also grabbed….Resolve, pet edition. Ha! Pet edition! This resolve is to remove stains, odors, and other not so sightly pet stains. When new dogs come into a home, they can have accidents or mark their territory – so it’s a great idea to have this on hand!

Then I went to the dog shampoo section and there was SO MANY choices. I didn’t even know there were so many different types of dog shampoo! We ended up selecting a mild scented, spray on soap, with great reviews.

So before the new pup comes – what should we stock up on? What did we forget? What was your number one thing that you wish you would have had ahead of time?

Thank you Gabe’s for helping us prepare for our new companion!
